From Friday 24 – Sunday 26 June, the BBC SSO throws open the doors of its home at Glasgow City Halls for its annual Big Weekend of music-making. For three days, the orchestra will entertain you with the great classics, romantic songs, cutting-edge sounds and the opportunity to come and sing together.
There’s music by Vaughan Williams including his Tallis Fantasia; there’s the chance to sing highlights from The Pirates of Penzance with the orchestra and members of the BBC Singers; we’ll tantalise you with the latest, beautiful sounds from Sweden; and top off everything with one of the most romantic afternoons of music Glasgow has ever heard.
