Minimal is part of the Glasgow Music 2011/2012 Season
In C: the ‘ground zero’ of minimalism. A piece so simple and yet so rich: a single sheet of paper on which you find a scattering of melodies: play them in order, with any combination of instruments or voices – make it your own. Paul Hillier’s version is sublime – slightly Eastern in sound as gongs, voices and percussion interweave in great waves of sound – a hypnotic delight.
This concert includes a world premiere of Sea Songs by Steve Martland, a co-commission from Ars Nova Copenhagen and Glasgow Life.
Ticket holders for Morton Feldman are welcome to join the audience for In C after the interval.
