An original take on Nordic & Scandinavian jazz, MOIQ perform unique music with Slavic soul.

In 2008 Polish pianist Mira Opalinska formed her own ensemble the Mira Opalinska International Quartet. In that inaugural year, they had the privilege of supporting Tomasz Stanko’s Nordic Quintet. Her quartet has since become a regular on the vibrant Scottish jazz scene, performing original material with a recognisably European slant.

Mira Opalinska, piano, Konrad Wiszniewski, saxophone, Douglas Whates, bass, Olavi Louhivuori, drums

Part of Spring 2011 mini-tour, with generous support from the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Edinburgh and the Polish Cultural Institute in London.
