The Smiths were – and for many of their fiercely devoted followers, remain to this day – far more than a just band. They were an attitude, a look, a whole way of life, a vital antidote to the bland and meaningless pop culture of the 1980s. There is a light and it never goes out..
Since 2005, Liverpool’s The Smiths Indeed have eked out a reputation as worthy bearers of the torch, reproducing with uncanny accuracy the triumphant vibrancy and energy of the Smiths live experience, circa Mid 80s.
The band’s seminal second album, Meat is Murder, will be performed here note for note, followed by an anthemic greatest hits set. For old school Smiths fans craving some well-earned nostalgia, or for the sons and heirs who missed out first time, this is the time to indulge yourself.
