Minimalism is the most radical, ‘new’ and influential movement in music of the past 60 years. It touches so many different kinds of music – film, pop, club, jazz, roots, classical, spiritual, orchestral, choral… and it is not too hard to see why. It can be hyper-intellectual, pop, spiritual, raunchy, smart, mesmeric. You find it in every land, so far has it outgrown the urban America of its birth.

Over the coming three years Glasgow’s Halls will ring to the sound of its iconic masterworks and its latest incarnations; now that the young radicals of the 1960s are venerable masters and new generations have taken their ideas to new places.
