Merchant Voices
Every Wednesday evening during term-time
The Merchant Voices is the City Halls adult community choir. Since the choir was formed in February 2006, the Merchant Voices has attracted over 100 members from communities across Glasgow and beyond. Meeting weekly for rehearsals in City Halls, the choir is open to adults of all ages and no previous musical experience is required – just lots of enthusiasm! The varied musical abilities of the members reflects one of the choir’s core principals, that it be completely accessible for everyone no matter what their musical background or knowledge. Under the guidance of conductor Eric Dunlea and piano accompanist Laura Baxter, the choir covers a wide range of vocal styles and repertoires and new members are always welcome.
Partners
The Merchant Voices have worked with a number of different partners on a variety of projects including the BBC Scottish Symphony and BBC Symphony Orchestras and the Glasgow and District Burns Association.
